Harbin, Feb. 18 -- The Opening Ceremony of  Harbin WU was grandly staged in Harbin International Conference, Exhibition and Sports Center gym at 8 pm on Feb.18.

Mr. Li Zhanshu, President of Harbin Organizing Committee, sent his welcome to athletes, judges and referees, guests, and friends from all over the world.

　　FISU President Mr. George Killian giving a welcome speech

FISU President Mr. George Killian and FISU officials attended the ceremony. Mr. Killian gave a welcome speech at the Ceremony, saying that “We are very pleased and honored that this Universiade is being held here in P.R. of China in the year of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of FISU”. He also complimented the Organizing Committee for its good preparation of the venues.
