Yabuli Ski Resort

Sitting in the north of Da Guokui Mountain (Peak 1) and Er Guokui Mountain (Peak 2) of Zhang Guangcai Mountain Range, 195 km southeast from Harbin City, Yabuli Ski Resort is 1,374 m in altitude and covers an area of 2,255 hectares. Sports including Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing, Ski Jumping, Nordic Combined, and Freestyle Skiing will be competed here.

Yabuli's name is originally derived from a RUSSian word meaning "apple fields.” and was once used as a hunting filed by the Manchu imperial family and nobility during the Qing Dynasty. Yabuli is located 195 kilometers to the east of Harbin. And 120 kilometers from the city of Mudanjiang. Situated at an elevation of 1374 meters, it has an average annual temperature between 2 and 10 degrees Celsius. Winter sees 3 to 50 centimeters of high quality snow at ground level, and depths of around1 meter up in the mountains. Snow covers the ground 170 days a year, and the skiing season can last up to 6 months.
Yabuli’s fame was established by its hosting of the 1996 Third Asian Winter Games, and since then it’s been building up to become China’s biggest winter sports venue, featuring the most advanced equipment and facilities as well as superior conditions not found anywhere else. In 2009, as the home of snow-related events during the 24 th Winter Universiade. Yabuli will once again become the focus of the world’s attention.
