Harbin, Nov. 9 -- On the morning of Nov. 9, at the press conference of 100-day countdown to Harbin 24th WU, the symbol"Passionate Heart " for the 24th WU volunteers, made its first official appearance. The symbol, which takes a pair of interactive hands as its basic designing element, connotes the meaning of sacrifice, friendship, mutual help and enhancement.

 

It symbolizes that WU volunteers will be working hand in hand with athletes from all the participating nations and regions, FISU family and all guests and friends, they will serve with smile and heart and contribute to the success of WU. This symbol gives full expression to volunteerism, their sincere smile, outstanding service and kind deeds will echo in every WU participants. The symbol will be great scenery in the 24th Winter Universiade.

 

On Jan. 7, 2008, the Volunteer Department of Harbin OC initiated the plan to collect designs of volunteer symbols from around the nation and now over 200 pieces of works have been received. After experts’ evaluation, the work by Dong Lei from Heilongjiang Cambridge College was selected to be the volunteer symbol for Harbin 24th WU.
