April 18th,the program of improving Harbin environment for welcoming the 24th Winter Universiade was finialized.From now on,Harbin will start the activity of improving the city environment.To make urban environment and outlook change as soon as possible,this activity is going to renovate and build hardware facilities related to the regional focus and around the main roads and streets for welcoming guests,which amounts to 8 categories of 31 areas.
In accordance with the requirements,the renovated area is divided into 5 parts.The first part is around the competition venues,such as the main venue in Harbin International Conference,Exhibition and Sports Center,the Provincial Skating Venue,Harbin Institute of Physical Education(HIPE) and Harbin University of Science and Technology.
The second parts is around hotels for officials,athletes and domestic and foreign journalists,including the Victory Hotel and the Shangrila Hotel,etc.
The third part is around commercial districts and scenic spots,such as the Monument for People’s Stuggling with Flood and the Stalin Park.
The fourth part is the both sides environment of 43 main streets and roads for welcoming guests and 13 related streets and roads,including the Airport Road,Youyi Road and Hongqi Street,etc.It amounts to 56 main streets and roads,which is 106.84 long spreading to the both sides 20m to 50m.
The last part includes 35 streets and roads of 41.42 kilometers long for the Olympic Torch relay and along with squares and scenic spots.
Besides,Harbin will carry out the restoration work as the main content of beauty,purification,illuminance and sequence through comprehensive mobilization and participation of all the people.As a result,eight areas will be improved comprehensively on urban traffic,environment protection,the qulity of urban face,sanitation,afforestation,traffic management,administrative enforcement and quality of civilization.
