Introduction to the Organizing Committee |

June 10, 2006 approved by the state council, the Organizing Committee for Harbin 24 Winter Universiade established based on the Preparatory Committee which was founded on July 7, 2005 to further facilitate the preparation work. The Establishment Meeting was held in Harbin International Exhibition and Sports Center on September 6. Harbin OC Chairman & Provincial Governor Zhang Zuoji unveiled the plaque. The Organizing Committee consists of 19 departments and a number of competition committees, seven of which have been set up, including General Affairs Office, Sports Department, Plan & Construction Department, and International Liaison Department.
At present, The Master Plan of Preparation Work, Publicity Plan and Construction Plan have been stipulated. 2.4 billion RMB will be invested into 46 construction projects, of which the schedule has been clarified. The projects are being constructed in successions. Moreover, the official website is functioning in English and Chinese. The solicitation for Logo and Mascot has also been concluded. The competition program of 12 sports has been approved. Documents and statutes for Marketing have been drafted. |
