In the United States,the 2008 World Men’s Curling Championship came to the end at the local time April 12th,it was the first time for China Men’s Curling team to participate in the game.Finally,the team got the fouth place due to losing the game to Norway.
The result not only a historical breakthrough for China men’s team sports in winter games,but also is the best result for all the men’ s team sports in summer games and winter games.
By the fouth place,China Men’s Curling team won 9 sores for heading to the Vancover Winter Olympic games,2010.If the team gets the qualification for the 2009 World Championships,the prospective for the 2010 Winter Olympic games will be very bright.Last year,at the Pacific area Curling Championships,China Men’s Curling team got the entrance ticket for this World Men’s Curling Championships by winning the first place.
In the single cycle preliminaries of this championships , China Men’s Curling team entered the quarter-final by winning Norway team,8 - 7.However,in deciding to the third place competition, China team lost to Norway team,5 - 7 and 3 - 8.
The next task for China team is to further improve the technical ability and psychological quality trying to enter the finals of the Pacific area competition,and then get the qualification for the 2009 World Championships. |
