Yesterday, vice secretary of municipal Party committee, mayor of Harbin municipal government met commission led by IIHF President.
Zhang said, since Mr. Fasel became IIHF President, he made great contribution to the development of ice sport, elevate the skill of the athletes, increase popularity of the ice hokey and also did a great of work to the international exchange though this sport. He also went to China many times, helped us scheme and organize the training for our judges and athletes, exceedingly promote the development of China’s ice hokey development.
Zhang also said that Harbin honored her unique character, especially ice & snow resource to be the China’s ice & snow cradle and the most importance winter sport base. During these years, Harbin cultivated many top athletes for our country and world, got remarkable achievement. Now Harbin has more than 500 ice hokey athletes, and mass sport is fast upholding. We deeply convinced that little chip light great fires. This year is Olympic Year, as well as a crucial year we bidding for the Youth Winter Olympic Games, the arrival of Mr. Fasel bring us more encouragement and lighten our hope. We hope Mr. Fasel could continual pay close attention to our cause and help us to put forward the ice hokey to a new stage. We earnestly hope Mr. Fasel could give our full support to our bidding for the first Youth Winter Olympic Games.
