The International Olympic Committee(IOC) announced that Harbin(China) became the bidding city for the first Youth Olympic Winter Games,2012.March 19,Met with Yu Zaiqing,,Vice Administer of General Administration of Sport of China,,Vice President of Chinese Olympic Committee(COC),Executive Committee member of IOC, Du Yuxin,Secretary of Harbin,said,trough bidding for the Youth Olympic Winter Games ,Harbin would improve the city image and general quality.
February 15,2008,in the governor specific official meeting,it was established that Harbin bid for the first Youth Olympic Winter Games,2012.March 2,China’s State Council approved that Harbin bidding work started.March 7,the IOC announced that there are 4 bidding cities for the first Youth Olympic Winter Games,including Harbin(China),Innsbruck(Austrilia),Kuopio(Finland),Lillehammer(Norway).
It is known that Harbin has finished the documents tanslation of qualification of bidding for first Youth Olympic Winter Games,and has submitted the list of Harbin Bidding Committee to China.At present,Harbin is making the efforts to attend the IOC meeting about the preparatory work of 2012 Youth Winter Games in Lausanne,Swizerland.Meanwhile,the work on the bidding report and answer to the question of IOC is advancing smoothly.
It is reported that the IOC decided to establish the Youth Olympic Winter Games on July 5th,2007.In accordance with the regulation of IOC,the host city for the first Youth Olympic Winter Games will be selected in November,this year through posting votes.
