Pre-games volunteers and Games-time volunteers for the 24th Winter Universiade are accredited personnel recruited and managed by the Winter Universiade Organizing Committee(OC), who take proper responsibilities, work at the time and in the position designated by Winter Universiade OC in service to the 24th Winter Universiade without payment.
I. Basic Requirements
1) Voluntary to serve the 24th Winter Universiade
2) Born prior to (and on) January 30, 1991, and in good health;
3) Abide by China's laws and regulations;
4) Able to participate in the pre-Games trainings and related activities
5) Able to serve consecutively for more than 15 days during the 24th Winter Universiade;
6) Native Chinese speakers should be able to communicate in essential foreign language(s), and applicants whose first language is not Chinese should be able to engage in conversations in elementary Chinese;
7) Possess professional knowledge and skills necessary for the posts
8) Priority to the person with social responsibility,good moral character , service experience and combined skills.
9)Be willing to accept the lead and management by Volunteer Department of Winter Universiade OC
II. Rights and Obligations
A. Rights
1) To be aware of the related informations on service
2) To express position preference before they are assigned to a job;
3) To be entitled to necessary working conditions，
4) To be entitled to participate in evaluation and honoring of the Games-time service of the volunteers
5) To give suggestions and advices for the volunteers' work;
6)To have other rights by law.
B. Obligations
1) To comply with the Winter Universiade OC policies and regulations;
2) To observe volunteers' commitment;
3) To be in deference to the Winter Universiade assignment;
4) To complete related trainings
5) To keep the personal privacy ,business secrets and other informations protected by law
6) To provide service without payment
7) To withdraw from volunteer service for reasons, volunteers should apply for the Volunteer Department of Winter Universiade OC in a week advance
III. Recruitment
A. Source
Volunteers for the Winter Universiade will mainly be recruited in Harbin area with college students as the principal source. Meanwhile, a fraction of them will be recruited from among mainland residents of outside Harbin, from compatriots of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as from overseas Chinese and foreigners
B. Application Channels
The Volunteers Department of Winter Universiade OC are responsible for receiving applications
C. Application period
Application period for Pre-games volunteers is from September 2007 to September,2008
Application period for Games-time volunteers is from December, 2007 to September,2008
D. Recruitment procedure
1) The procedure includes: applying, the review of application materials, interview, test, assignment, background check and the offer sending.
2) The Volunteers Department of Winter Universiade OC will enroll the recruited volunteers in batches according to the above procedure.[1] [2]
